Spoken Word Showcase: Ides of March: Supported by PoetryWalls
Moderator: Eric Tinsay Valles

The Ides of March, which corresponds to the midpoint of that month in the ancient Roman calendar, was a merry time of picnics, revelry and for settling debts. The most infamous Ides of March, however, marked the assassination of Julius Caesar and the start of civil strife in Rome. The performance tells about the Ides of March this year in Singapore by expressing them in verse.

EcoPoetry Writing Workshop: Write and Save the Planet
[Poetry Festival (Singapore) and PoetryWalls]

Instructors: Ow Yeong Wai Kit, Muzakkir Samat

Nature has served as a muse for poets over time and across cultures. Nature has inspired verses in tropical Singapore and beyond. With climate change, water scarcity, and the decline or extinction of wildlife species, poets are engaging with their environments in imaginative and critical ways. Eco-poets and editors Ow Yeong Wai Kit and Muzakkir Samat will facilitate a workshop on eco-poetry writing and will read samples from their anthology From Walden to Woodlands.
